PHEASANT FC, who were already guaranteed second place behind Premier Division champions Corsham CC Wildcats, were running on empty when they visited Melksham Town (Sunday) for what was their fourth game in five days.
Despite a gallant effort, Del Llewellyn’s side suffered a 3-2 loss.
James Dark netted two first-half goals to take is total to 19 for the season, with Jack Morris also on target for Melksham. Mark Dolman, who turned the rebound home after his penalty was saved, and Nick Ridout were the Pheasant scorers.
Division Two
DESPITE dropping two points following their 2-2 draw away at Warminster Wanderers, Box Rovers remain on course to finish the season as Division Two champions.
Box, who need just a point from their three remaining games to clinch top spot, will play the same opponents again this Sunday when they will be hoping to clinch back-to-back titles.
Leigh Rogers’ opener for Box was cancelled out by Jamie Howse. Warminster then went 2-1 ahead in the second period through Ollie Nash before Rogers bagged his second of the night to earn Box a share of the spoils.
