WILTSHIRE rider Tommy Bridewell hopes to build on his opening round points finish at the Bennetts British Superbike Championship meeting at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Bridewell was 14th at Donington Park earlier this month on the Movuno.com Halsall Racing Team Suzuki GSX-R1000 and is eyeing an improvement in Kent this weekend.
“I’m very eager for the weekend and to get back out there,” he said.
“We had a difficult opening round at Donington, the weather made it very tricky for us and for everyone, but I’m sure we can have a much better round at Brands Hatch.
“The Indy circuit isn’t everyone’s favourite track but for us, at this point in our development of the bike, it’s come at a really good time.
“The team has been working really hard since Donington and we’ve made quite a few improvements in the past week. I think we should be able to go to Brands and fight our way back up to the sharp end.
“We should be able to run a really good pace this weekend, and I’m pushing for two strong points finishes to get my championship campaign off the ground.”
Team owner Martin Halsall said: "Tommy is focussed on the championship and he will be going all out for two strong points finishes.
"The whole team is fired-up and ready to go, and we are confident we can celebrate four good, solid results at the end of the weekend.”
The second round of the series gets under way today with free practice on Friday, ahead of qualifying and the first Superstock race on Saturday. Both British Superbike races will run on Sunday, along with the second Superstock race.
