CHIPPENHAM maintained their pursuit of GoCrea8 League Central One leaders Clifton Robinsons with a 5-3 victory at Mid Somerset on Saturday.
A closely-fought first half saw the visitors take the lead in the first half courtesy of a strike from Tim Elliot.
The lead was doubled after the break as Mark Knight found the bottom corner before the home side halved their deficit but Chippenham regained their two-goal advantage as Knight netted his second.
Knight completed his hat-trick to take the away side further ahead before Mid Somerset hit their second.
Elliot finished off Tom Bowery’s pass to wrap up victory for the visitors despite a third Somerset goal.
Chippenham A are third in Central Two and maintained their push for honours by downing leaders Mendip 3-2.
The home side trailed 2-1 at the interval, despite opening the scoring through Elliot Jones, who converted Nigel Stonham’s pass.
But in the second half Chippenham levelled 15 minutes in as Dave Thomas was the provider for Jones to score his second.
Five minutes later the winner arrive as Thomas and Stonham combined to allow Henry Price to slam home.
Chippenham B were turned over 6-2 by Bristol & West B in East Central One, despite goals from Adam Wheadon and Michael Riglar.
Devizes A were 3-1 winners over their Royal Wootton Bassett counterparts, Ben Johnson and George Whaite scoring the goals.
In East Central Two, Chippenham C were defeated 5-0 by Team Bath Buccs G, while the D team drew 1-1 with West Wilts B, Gordon Larkins netting for Chippenham.
