CALNE Town were unable to pull off an upset and reach the final of the Wiltshire Senior Cup upset as they were beaten 4-0 by Southern League Swindon Supermarine last night.
Connor Waldon scored twice within the opening 10 minutes – Josh Parsons and Jack Alexander teeing up the striker – to get Marine on their way in the two teams’ semi-final meeting at Chippenham Town’s Hardenhuish Park ground.
With 22 minutes on the clock, Ryan Wood turned provider for Josh Parsons to get himself on the scoresheet and Marine finished off the Lilywhites with three minutes remaining as Callum Parsons slotted home after collecting a pass from his brother Josh.
Marine will now wait to discover if they’ll meet Southern League rivals Salisbury or Hellenic League Highworth Town in the final after those sides’ semi-final due to be played at Melksham Town’s Oakfields stadium last night was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
