CHIPPENHAM Ladies' second team kept themselves in the hunt for the Wessex Division One title with a hard-fought 2-0 win at home to Frome at the weekend.
It was the team’s first game in more than a month due to the Christmas break but the lay-off did not seem to affect them as they claimed a fourth straight victory.
The result keeps Chippenham third in the table, just two points behind leaders North Wilts.
It was a tough afternoon for Chippenham thirds in the same division though, as they were beaten 4-0 away at Team Bath Buccaneers 4th, who are flying high in second in the table.
The thirds remain on just one win this season and they face a tough ask to add to that this weekend as they face an in-house battle against their second-team colleagues.
Those fixtures were amongst the handful to be contested last Saturday, with the majority of divisions in both the ladies and men’s leagues returning from the break this weekend.
