CHIPPENHAM claimed a 2-1 success at Firebrands B in Central One.
Mark Knight and Luke Morris put the visitors ahead before Firebrands pulled a goal back later in the first-half.
The two sides then played out a goalless second period as Chippenham maintained their place at the summit.
- NIGEL Stoneman and Charlie Bizley struck four goals apiece in Chippenham A’s 15-0 success over Corsham.
Youngsters Jake Trask, Kai Isgrove and James Garrett all put in fine displays for visitors Corsham.
- CHIPPENHAM B beat fellow strugglers West Wilts B 5-2 but had to come from 2-1 down as Andy Edwards levelled just before half-time to add to his earlier opening score.
In the second half, Chippenham took charge of the game. Tim McKendrick scored within minutes of the restart, James Grantham added a fourth, before Andy Edwards completed his hat-trick to wrap up the game in the closing minutes.
- IN EAST Central 2, a torrential downpour at Warminster could not stop Chippenham C beating West Wilts C 7-0. Mark Dodd opened the scoring before Archie Wright got two in two minutes and Ben Law made it 4-0 at half-time.
In the second half, Chippenham C continued to dominate as Archie Wright completed his hat-trick, before James Gale and Mark Grantham added to the scoreline.
- ON Sunday afternoon, the Chippenham Vets side take on an England Over 65 side (1.30pm) at Hardenhuish Park.
- MARLBOROUGH were unable to keep the pressure on the pace-setters in Central One as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Team Bath Buccs C.
After having a goal disallowed, the hosts declined and had a player yellow carded before Team Bath bagged their opening goal.
Rich Holman levelled the scores after the break, but it only spurred Bath on as they regained the lead.
Marlborough, who had Brian Marnane named as man of the match, saw another player yellow carded as their discipline failed to improve and the visitors netted a third to seal the points.
- CORSHAM ladies first claimed a 2-0 success over Chippenham thirds.
Vickie Hathway gave Corsham the lead in this Wessex Division One clash from a penalty corner.
After the break, Katherine Robinson, who was named joint player-of-the-match alongside Melanie Bessell, grabbed the second when pouncing on a loose ball.
- CORSHAM thirds fell to a 2-0 defeat to Knowle seconds, with Beth Goater and Emma Fletcher putting in strong displays in defence while Morgan Fletcher, Morgan Golledge, Carol Johnson and Sarah Barter battled hard in midfield.
