CHIPPENHAM maintained their position at the top of Central 1 table when they ran in a magnificent seven against Somerset Gryphons.
Luke Morris opened the scoring, with Nick Middleton adding a second. Chippenham stepped up the pressure in the second half and Mark Knight struck twice, while Middleton added three more goals.
Henry Price netted twice as Chippenham A moved up to third in East Central 1 with a 3-1 win away at City of Bath B. James Hamilton got the other.
At the other end of the table, Chippenham B struggled to convert their chances against Bath Buccs F and were thrashed 5-1, Tim McKendrick getting their goal.
Chippenham C’s run of good form in East Central 2 came to an end in a 4-2 defeat against Bristol University D.
Bristol were 3-0 up before Mike Spurrier pulled one back before half-time. Bristol added a fourth goal in the second half before Mark Dodd reduced the arrears before the whistle.
In the same division, Chippenham D lost 5-0 to leaders City of Bath C.
Chippenham ladies were unable to match that success, with the 4ths going down 3-1 at Corsham 2nds in Wessex Division 2.
The first half ended with Corsham two goals up and, although Chippenham came back hard in the second half, a third Corsham goal killed the match.
Carla Reed struck twice for Corsham, with Sophie Mumford also on target.
Corsham Ladies 3rds were beaten 6-2 at their West Wilts counterparts in Wessex Division 3.
The visitors found themselves 2-0 down early one but quickly replied to go in level at the break. However, Corsham lost concentration in the second period and errors allowed Wilts to score four more goals.
