Marlborough bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Bristol’s Firebrands B in Davis Wood League Central One on Saturday with a 4-2 success over mid-table rivals Somerset Gryphons 24 hours later.
The in-form Wiltshire side, looking to maintain their hopes of promotion, started positively against Firebrands and were rewarded when striker Hamish Fyfe swept home from close range.
Hosts Firebrands were more assertive after half time, exploiting space in Marlborough’s ranks and scored twice.
Marlborough thought they had got back on terms, but Keir Headley’s strike was disallowed.
However on Sunday, Marlborough were quickly into their stride at home and skipper Rich Holman fired home the opener from a short corner.
Gryphons levelled, but Holman’s fierce slide pass was deflected into the net by Anil Sud.
Despite losing Steve Way to the sin-bin, Sud added his second after half time before Way made amends by striking home the fourth.
