Wiltshire Team Bath athletes starred in Bedford at the England Athletics Championships.
The best result of the day came from Melksham AK School student Will Stockley, who ran a personal best of 4mins 36.73secs to finish fifth in the U17 men’s 1500m steeplechase.
Dauntsey’s Nikko Hunt was fourth in the U17s pole vault and Matravers School sprinter Will Kennedy did really well to make the final of a very strong U17 men’s 100m in which he finished eighth in a wind-assisted time of 10.97secs.
Kennedy also qualified for the final of the 200m but did not start. Clubmate Owen Harnett of Lavington School reached the semi finals of the 100m (11.26secs) and ran in the heats of the 200m (22.92secs).
Hilperton’s John Howorth was ninth in the final of the under 15 boys’ 1500m (4:27.72) and Livia Gauntlett clocked 11.72secs in the heats of the U17 women’s 80m hurdles.
