Goals from Darrin Moss and Glenn Armstrong gave Calne a 2-0 win at Westbury last night as their season finally began to gain some momentum.
But it took a wonder save from keeper Jamie Bartlett to keep them in the game at 1-0.
After no wins in their first five games they got off the mark with a 2-1 win over Wells and manager Simon Gardner hoped it would kickstart their season.
He got his wish when Calne got off to a flier.
Aaron Hopkins shot just wide as the visitors dominated early on.
Westbury gradually came back into the game but it was goalless until thwe 64th minute, by which time Calne were in the ascendancy again.
Sub Tom Slater crossed from the left for Moss to fire home.
That only served to invigorate the home side and Bartlett had to dive full length for the save of the game in the 70th minute to maintain his side’s lead.
Minutes later Calne secured the points when Hopkins was brought down in the box.
Armstrong showed no nerves and slotted home to seal the win.
Calne face Cowes Sports in the FA Vase First Qualifying round at home on Saturday.
Westbury travel to Andover Town.
