Pewsey Vale slipped to their second successive 2-0 defeat in the Sydenhams League Division One as they were beaten at Romsey Town on Saturday.
Ricky Franklin shot wide from Ryan Banks’ cross early on before Wesley Clark made a great save to deny the hosts’ Liam Cooke.
Romsey went ahead with two minutes before the break, with Don Collicott pouncing on the rebound from another Clark save to tap home.
The home side quickly doubled their lead before the break through Indrit Elezi.
Tom Ritchie nodded just wide as Vale looked to reduce the deficit after the break while Romsey’s Hardy shot wide when he was one-on-one with Clarke.
Clarke made another fine stop to deny Pedro Carvalho but the visitors couldn’t find a way back into the game.
Vale host Toolstation League Premier Division Melksham Town in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase this weekend.
