DAVE Snell has won the Bowls England senior singles (over 55s) competition at Royal Leamington Spa.
The Wootton Bassett stalwart and Wiltshire Middleton Cup team manager recorded a comprehensive 21-7 victory against Jim Marsland of Hampshire-based Aldershot Traction in the final at Victoria Park yesterday afternoon.
Snell had reached the final thanks to convincing victories over Cornwall’s Norman Coad and Northamptonshire’s Keith Height earlier in the day.
His victory completed a memorable weekend for the Moonraker county, who celebrate their centenary this year, following the success of Andrew Colebrooke, Russell Francis and Graham Shadwell (Spencer Moulton) in the National Triples Championship yesterday.
