CHIPPENHAM Town ended their evening with nine men on the pitch as they put nine points on the board in the Southern League Premier Division.

The Bluebirds had to recover from the setback of seeing Toby Osman receive a straight red card with less than ten minutes on the clock and also had Iain Harvey sent off later on but a Luke Ballinger goal was enough to see Mark Collier's men beat Dorchester Town this evening.

Full-back Osman was given his marching orders early on for his part in an off-the-ball incident with the Magpies' Dan Smith but with minutes of the first half remaining, Ballinger found the net for the second time in as many games as he finished off a flowing team move.

Chippenham midfielder Harvey was also dismissed deep into the second period but hosts Dorchester also suffered their own sending off when Steve Walker was also sent for an early shower.

But the nine-man Bluebirds had done enough to make it three wins from four matches as they held on to take all three points in Dorset.

The Bluebirds face another side relegated from the Conference next Saturday when they make the trip to Histon before hosting near neighbours Paulton Rovers on Bank Holiday Monday.
