CHIPPENHAM Town chief Mark Collier has continued to revamp his squad by bringing in two more new faces ahead of this afternoon's trip to Biggleswade Town.

The Bluebirds have bolstered their back-line options by signing defender Pete Monks from Conference South Weston-super-Mare.

The 27-year-old has previously had spells at Dorchester Town and Taunton Town and featured for Paulton Rovers last weekend after joining the Calor League Division One South and West outfit on loan from Weston.

Collier has also secured the services of Cirencester Town defender Jon Beeden.

Beeden played under the Bluebirds boss at Swindon Supermarine after stepping up to the Southern League from Wootton Bassett Town.

The signings of Monks and Beeden mean that Collier has now made seven new additions to his Chippenham squad since taking over at Hardenhuish Park on November 6.

The Bluebirds manager handed debuts to young defender Tyron Leigh, promoted from feeder club Chippenham Park, and former Eastleigh winger Corey King in Tuesday's Red Insure Cup defeat to Merthyr Town.

Midfielder Phil Baker, signed from Calne Town, was also in the squad against Merthyr.

Yesterday, Collier completed the signing of midfielder Rob Dean from his former club Supermarine, as well as bringing in former Chelsea and Bristol City youngster Callum Wright from Wootton Bassett.

Chippenham have also enquired about the availability of ex-Supermarine midfielder Jordan Roberts, son of Wootton Bassett manager Jeff, and were unsuccessful in a seven-day approach for Mangotsfield United's Jamie Reid.

The Bluebirds travel to Bedfordshire this afternoon as they look to build on last weekend's fine victory over Cambridge City at Biggleswade (kick-off 3pm).
