Shoppers at Tesco Metro in Chippenham donated food to help people in need.
The chain teamed up nationally with food bank charities and the Chipp-enham branch, in Emery Gate, collected its donations over last weekend.
Manager Mel Kervin said: “We asked customers whether they would consider buying something extra. Some were very generous and bought one of every item listed. We had a lot of donations of soup and cereals. In total, we had 46 trays of food that amounted to £646.”
Three Guides from the North Wilts Mountain-eering Club helped. Food was given to FairShare, based in Bristol.
