* Anne Salter, who became involved in Guiding when she joined the Brownies in 1937, called to say that she recognised two of the women shown in the picture of Sherston’s Women of the Civil Defence (Welfare Section), taken in 1957, which was published last week. In uniform was Guide captain Miss Irene Usher with assistant Guider Doris Gilbert.
