Police are concerned for the welfare of a Swindon man who has been missing since Saturday evening.

Adam Michael Walters, 37, from Southbrook Street, Swindon was last seen at 6.30pm on Saturday by his step father at his home address in Chandos Close, Grange Park, Swindon and it is believed that he may still be in the local area.

Adam is described as 6ft 2ins tall, medium stocky build with short mousey brown hair.

He has a number of tattoos including a red lady on his right calf, a heart on one of his wrists and the names of his children Stephen and Summer on his arms. He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans but it is also believed he could be wearing a mustard coloured top.

Adam is on medication for high blood pressure which he has not taken with him. He is described as being in a vulnerable state of mind and it is unusual for him to go missing for this length of time.

Inspector Mark Garrett said: "We are concerned for Adam’s welfare and we and his family are appealing for him to get in touch to let us know he is safe. Enquiries were made throughout yesterday and continue today with specialist search teams, police dogs and the force helicopter all used in the effort to locate Adam.

"I am appealing for anyone with information on Adam or who believe they may have seen someone matching the description given to contact us immediately on 0845 408 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.

"If Adam doesn’t want to let his family know where he is then we will respect that wish but he does need to be in contact with us to let us know that he is safe and well."
