YOUNG fan Decland Harris will lead Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and David Beckham out at Wembley tomorrow night.

The ten-year-old, of Oakhurst, Swindon, will be one of 11 England mascots.

The aspiring goalkeeper, who plays for the U10B team of Ferndale/Rodbourne, will be a part of the World Cup qualifier against Andorra, which could see England almost guaranteeing a place at next year’s World Cup in South Africa.

Bridlewood Primary School pupil Declan, who is a member of the England Fans Supporters’ Club, is excited by the prospect of meeting the star players on the world-famous famous pitch.

“I’m very excited,” said Declan. “It will be really good to get onto the pitch.

“I think England will win 2-1. I don’t mind who I walk out with, but if I had to choose it would be Rooney or Lampard.

“Wembley has a great atmosphere, a huge crowd and a big scoreboard.”

Declan is a season ticket holder at the County Ground, who follows the reds home and away, and has been an England follower from the age of two, but this is his first time as an England mascot.

His first England match was away in Munich in the famous 5-1 win against Germany in 2001. He has been to more than 15 countries across the world watching England, including South Africa and Russia.

“Since the new Wembley opened two years ago he has never missed an England home match,” said dad Marc, 38.

“He’s been to about 13 games at Wembley, a further 20 when England played all over the UK and 18 when they played abroad – certainly over 50 matches.

“He’s a very privileged boy but he knows how lucky he is. He’s very placid – nothing seems to faze him.

“Declan’s used to mixing with famous people. I remember when he met Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker he didn’t shout about it. He’s not one to show off – he just gets on with it.”

Declan will meet Football Association officials at the player’s entrance, before being given a tour of Wembley stadium and getting kitted out for the big kick-off at 8.15pm.

The youngster won’t know which England player he will lead out until minutes before the match, as the FA keeps it fair by picking pairs randomly.

Declan’s sister Ashlea, seven, and mother Lisa, 37, will join mortgage manager Marc in the stands behind Fabio Capello’s dug-out to cheer on the team.
