A 25-litre container of Hydrochloric acid overturned in Swindon this morning spilling the substance all over a residential road.
The incident happened at 11.15am today in Cottington Close, Freshbrook, when it is thought the container accidentally fell into the road.
Police officers, fire crews, the ambulance service and the environment agency all attended the scene and used three pumping appliances and one command support vehicle to absorb and contain the acid.
No-one was injured and the road was hosed down after the acid had been removed.
