The Pound Arts Trust, which runs The Pound, in Corsham, has received £120,000 from Arts Council England to help its work in the community over the next three years.
David Jones, chairman of trustees of The Pound Arts Trust said the grant, part of Arts Council England’s £30m Catalyst Arts capacity building and match funding scheme, will be a huge benefit to the trust’s work.
He said: “The catalyst award builds on the ongoing success of Pound Arts and will enable the organisation to further develop the work it does in communities across Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.”
As well as The Pound, the trust also runs Rural Arts Touring, the rural touring scheme of productions and workshops for Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire which the grant will aid.
Ian Martin, executive director of Pound Arts, said: “Our ambition over the next three years is to attract £100,000 of new funding from individuals and grant making trusts which will be invested directly in arts projects for young people in Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.”
In addition to receiving regular funding from Arts Council England, Pound Arts is one of five organisations in Wiltshire which receives core funding from Wiltshire Council and is also supported by South Gloucestershire Council and Corsham Town Council.
