Five young members of a Catholic church in Devizes were recently enrolled into the Guild of St Stephen.
Olivia Arnold, Jack Colyer, Ben Bryan, Amelia Cockrem and Peter King have been altar servers at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception for about two years.
The Guild of St Stephen is an international organisation of altar servers founded in England in 1904 by Father Hamilton McDonald.
There is a special ceremony of enrolment into the Guild, during which the server makes a solemn promise and is presented with the Guild Medal, which is made of bronze.
Scott Coleman was awarded his silver medal for serving for over 20 years.
Chris Henley is due to receive his gold medal for 50 years’ service later this year.
