Thousands of pounds have been donated to Help For Heroes by Wootton Bassett Rugby Club.
Bernice Brady, the H4H’s Wiltshire coordinator, was invited to a presentation ceremony and lunch on Saturday to pick up the cheque for £5,000.
“We had a lunch and there were about 40 of us, and then the rugby players as well.
“The guys that came up to me made me feel so popular.
“They listened to everything I said and thanked me for all our work. It was such a wonderful afternoon and it was lovely to be able to get to an event to be able to receive the cheque.”
The money was raised at an auction of goods last year including a helicopter ride, weekend hire of a Jaguar X2 and signed football and rugby shirts.
Ms Brady said: “I have sent a card to the president to say a massive thank you to them.
“It’s not easy fundraising and they are a wonderful bunch of guys.”
