A timber bus shelter has been erected at Easton Town in Sherston after more than a year of campaigning by parish councillors.
The project suffered a setback last year when funding ran out. But a £2,500 grant from Wiltshire Council has helped pay for the £5,750 structure, which it is hoped will last for many years.
Cilla Liddington, who headed up the project, said plenty of paperwork had to be completed before the build could go ahead.
She said: “‘I was surprised at the complication in getting approval for the shelter.
“As it stands within the conservation area it needed the go-ahead from the planners as well as the all clear from Wiltshire Highways.”
She said special thanks were due to Mr and Mrs Blanchard, whose property lies next to the shelter, for agreeing to its position.
