The King’s Korner Band, one of the stalwarts of Pewsey Carnival, is desperate to recruit players.
The band, which heads the illuminated procession in September, has been playing at the carnival for over 100 years, but now has to draft in musicians from Bristol to Southampton.
Band member John Puttock said: “The only qualification required is enthusiasm.
“I was working in Titchfield in Hampshire when a colleague and KK member coerced me into buying a banjo. A couple of weeks later I was in the band. I could barely play three chords.
“It’s this acceptance that separates the KK from others – we do not practise.”
