St James Church in Devizes is expected to be full to bursting this afternoon for the funeral of local builder Paul Whitbread.
Mr Whitbread, 48, was found dead at a house in Urchfont on July 24. It is believed he took his own life.
Mr Whitbread was hugely popular, a keen cyclist and pool player and a willing helper to anyone who needed a hand.
He was born at Devizes maternity hospital, the survivor of twins, and was educated at Southbroom School.
He was a member of the Devizes Army Cadet Force and the local Territorial Army company.
The funeral service will take place at 2pm, followed by cremation at West Wiltshire Crematorium in Semington.
An inquest into his death opened at Salisbury on Wednesday last week. Assistant deputy coroner Claire Balysz heard a post mortem report, which gave the cause of death as hanging.
