Residents at the Bupa care home in Market Lavington recently enjoyed the delights of a Caribbean tour without the hassle of actually going on a ship.
The “cruise” is held annually to give residents a taste of foreign countries. Staff decorate the home to give it a shipboard feeling and serve food relevant to the country of destination.
Last week it was all bright Caribbean colours and spicy food and staff dressed up in national costumes and beachwear.
Organiser Debbie Adshead said: “This occasion is as close as some of our residents get to a cruise. They all thoroughly enjoyed it.”
The home is gearing up for its next big event, a garden party open to the public on August 11 from 2pm to 4pm.
