The mother of a suspected murder victim from Chippenham whose body has not been found has said she has not given up hope of him being alive.
Robyn Van Lill wept as she made an emotional appeal for information about her son, South African personal trainer Donovan Van Lill, 29, from Pewsham, who went missing on March 3, Detectives launched a murder investigation and later charged 41-year-old Martin Sugden in connection with the case. Despite extensive inquires and searches police have yet to find the father-of-two's body.
Detectives have released CCTV footage of Mr Van Lill and still pictures of him from near his home.
His mother, who travelled from Durban for the appeal, said she felt "sick" when she saw them. Weeping, she said: "He seemed to be happy here. I don't know why this happened."
Asked if she had given up hope of ever seeing him alive again, she said: "No. Sometimes I just find it hard to believe he's dead. I feel he would want me to look for him no matter what.
"I sometimes hope he's gone somewhere, something has happened or you know... you just don't know what to think sometimes," she said. "They should understand that he's a father of two small children and they need to know if he's dead or alive, you can't just carry on and not know.
> It's not right."
Police said Mr Van Lill's disappearance was "very out of character". He did not have anything with him when he vanished and his computer was left logged into his Facebook account.
Detective Superintendent Norman McKeaveney, who is leading the investigation, said he wanted to hear from anyone who might have visited Sugden's home in Stanton St Quintin, near Chippenham, on March 3, whether on business or for personal reasons.
Detectives said they wanted to identify the driver of a small blue saloon car captured on CCTV entering and exiting Blackthorn Mews, Pewsham, and for anyone who may have seen Mr Van Lill's car, a White Citroen Saxo, registration P528 VEU being driven on March 3.
