Now that I am a member of The Big Society, I presume that I, and thousands of others living in Devizes, now have a powerful say in the future of our health services. Now our voices can be listened to, and respected.
Collectively we should now be able to influence the key decisions being made for our community healthcare.
NHS Wiltshire’s current chief executive, Jeff James, has stated that there are “no plans to change the services at community hospitals.”
That should mean that the X-ray facility is now safe. A minor injuries unit should be re-instated as soon as possible.
Mr James also stated that plans for Primary Care Centres will continue but these plans have been ongoing for a very long time – still no site has been chosen, and where is the money which had been set aside for this project?
