I think it is disgusting that Terry Lewis had so much trouble to get medical help when his arm became swollen (Gazette, July 22).
Why on earth was money spent on a new medical centre at Green Lane if they can’t deal with a problem like this?
It seems to me that we are all being urged to go for tests and screenings for this and that, but when someone gets worrying symptoms or feels ill they can’t get help without going miles away from their home.
I know they say that prevention is better than cure, but I would rather be left in peace to enjoy life while I can, and not be worried to death about things that may never happen, because I really believe that we all die when our time comes.
If all the money that is spent on doing things, which after all is simply to do with reaching targets, was spent on treating people when they need help we would all be a lot better off.
