Tots from Hullavington’s Happy Caterpillars Pre-school took part in an end-of-year sports day last week.

Nearly 40 children were kept busy running relays and taking part in team-building races.

Pre-school manager Victoria Castle said that the children all enjoyed themselves.

She said: “We had a fantastic day.

“The weather was lovely and we had lots of parents coming along to see their children.”

Among the activities was washing the baby in which children washed a baby doll. “We also did a puppet relay, a sack race and another race where they have to collect bean bags from under a parachute,” said Ms Castle.

“All the children were given medals with their photograph on.”

The older children are leaving for primary schools in Stanton St Quintin and Hullavington.

Hopefully, they will soon feel at home as most of the children from Happy Caterpillars go onto one or other of the village schools.

The pre-school caters for children aged two-and-a half to five years.
