Staff and residents at Greathouse Cheshire Residential Home in Kington Langley have thanked the workers at Tesco Metro in Chippenham for raising money for a sensory room.
Representatives from the store visited the care home last week to present a cheque for £800 and manager Joyce Amor said she was delighted.
“We have had a sensory room for a while but it has not been up and running properly,” she said.
“Tesco very kindly donated this money that has enabled us to have a fully functioning sensory room, which is now used regularly by the residents.
“It is a darkened room with a water bed that is heated, music which plays through and lots of lava lamps and curtains with little lights in – it’s very relaxing.
“It is important for our service users to have a room like this because they are physically disabled or have had physical disabilities and this helps relax their muscles.”
