Farmer's son Matthew Radbourne is using his holiday from university to organise a music festival to support our Help for Heroes Appeal on August 7.
Mr Radbourne, 24, of Abbottswood Farm, Bromham, is four years into a seven-year architecture course at Leeds.
With time on his hands after completing a placement with an architect’s practice, he decided to do something a bit different.
He said: “I came up with the idea of organising something that raises money for charity in a way that people don’t normally do.
“I wanted something that would bring lots of people together and where everyone can enjoy themselves and at the same time achieve my goal.”
He thought he would a get a few bands to come and play at his parents’ farm and get his friends to pay to see them. But since then it has snowballed into a full scale festival he is calling Farmfest.
“Suddenly I had ten bands and then three djs and it got to the stage where I realised this was the challenge I was looking for.”
He is now up to his eyes in organsisation but says it is worth the effort.
The music will start at 2pm and go on until late. Tickets cost £20 and include overnight camping. So far ten bands have signed up for the three stages and festival goers are encouraged to bring a picnic.
Information on tickets and the confirmed band line-up is on www.farm-festival.com Some of the money raised will go to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Appeal.
