The Wadworth Brewery shire horses will be going on their annual summer holiday to Poulshot on August 6.
It will be the first outing for two of them – Monty and Percy – as they have been recruited in the past year.
The pair will join the other shires, Max and Prince, at The Raven Inn, Poulshot, at noon.
After about half an hour meeting the public and drinking some of the beer they deliver to pubs in Devizes, the horses will walk to a nearby field, owned by former Wadworth’s chairman Major John Bartholomew, where they will be set free and stay there for two weeks.
The event will also be the first experienced by Jerry Edwards and his partner Nathalie Bellamy, who became the tenants of the Wadworth-owned Raven last November.
As well as their pub menu, a hog roast, Cornish cream teas and ice creams will be available while a clown act will be performing at 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
