Busy Bees Nursery at Woodborough has said goodbye to the church rooms it has used since it started 20 years ago.
The pre-school will reopen in September in much bigger premises at the redundant Upavon Primary School.
The nursery was started by Sarah Hyde and Lesley Williamson 20 years ago when their own children – now grown-up – were small and there was no pre-school in the immediate area.
They have run it ever since and will continue to be supervisors when Busy Bees reopens.
Upavon school was closed three years ago because of falling numbers and the buildings were mothballed for any future community use.
Pewsey Area Community Trust is moving its offices, training centre and gallery into the main school building and Busy Bees will be moving into the adjacent building that was designed, built and run as a nursery until the school closed.
Mrs Hyde and Mrs Williamson said they had mixed feelings about moving to the newer and much bigger premises in Upavon.
Mrs Williamson said: “It will be much larger and there will be an outdoor space we can use all the time.”
Mrs Hyde said: “We will be sad to leave this building after 20 happy years.”
Some of the children they taught in their early days have since returned as teenagers to do work experience and Busy Bees will soon be taking the first offspring from their original children.
The nursery has 33 on its books with 19 attending every morning. It reopens on Monday September 6, but is holding an open morning on September 3.
