Sheila Andrews, 81, who lived in Wootton Bassett for most of her life, was noted for her kindness and unstinting service to others.
She moved with her family from Ludgershall in 1938, and attended the National School( now the Civic Centre).
She became a Red Cross cadet and later leader and centre organiser before the detachment was disbanded in 2003.
Until recent times Mrs Andrews operated a medical loans service, which provided short term use of items from walking sticks and bedpans to wheelchairs, Mrs Andrews and her husband Roy, who died in 1960, had one son, Nigel, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Her voluntary work with the Red Cross was her chief activity.
The church service was followed by cremation at Kingsdown, followed by a wake at the Phoenix Club.
