I believe that the vast majority of Marlborough residents and those in outlying areas want to support and keep our local shops and businesses going.
Why then close the High Street for the jazz festival, allow the Continental market to come and occupy many parking bays when much of the road network is under repair?
The High Street, Pewsey Road, George Lane, Waitrose car park, Salisbury Road, London Road and the A4 all saw traffic at a standstill last week.
A little prior planning would have gone a long way to easing the misery. Meanwhile our shopkeepers and others soldier on; at least for the time being.
