Artist Sue Faux spent a week helping pupils at St Katharine’s School to get inspiration from their setting in Savernake Forest.
Mrs Faux, who lives at Clench Common near Marlborough, was the resident artist during art week and worked in the school, playground and in Savernake Forest. “I showed them how to be inspired by the textures and patterns all around them,” said Mrs Faux.
“We also did some pavement painting in the playground and we discussed graffiti with the children, when it’s all right and when it’s not all right.
“They agreed that pavement art was ephemeral and was gone in a week so that was all right but that any graffiti intended to be permanent was not.”
She also helped the children make green man masks and showed them how to create Picasso patterns.
