A second bid to build a nine-hole golf course at Sells Green near Seend faces rejection tonight.
John Hussey of Haywood, Westbury, has applied to build the par-three course on agricultural land at Berhills Lane.
His first application was refused by Wiltshire Council planning officers last August because of concerns about the narrow Berhills Lane and the junction with the A365 Devizes to Melksham road.
The new application is identical except for proposed improvements to the junction, but Wiltshire Council eastern area planning committee is being recommended to refuse it for the same reason tonight.
Seend and Bromham parish councils have objected to the plans. One letter of support and 18 of objection have been received by Wiltshire Council.
Mr Hussey said a pay and play course and driving range would fill a gap in local sport provision. He is backed by Sport England.
