The work of the Devizes-based Wiltshire Wildlife Trust has been given a boost by a grant of £270,000 from the Hills Group of Marlborough.

The grant was made through the Landfill Communities Fund and will assist the charity in carrying out its work in creating a better habitat for wildlife throughout the county.

Mike Hill, chief executive of Hill’s, said: “The trust’s work is vital to ensuring that wildlife habitat is created and protected for future generations to enjoy. As a company we care about the locations that give us our living and do our best to give something back.”

Dr Gary Mantle, director of the trust, said: “This generous grant from Hills will help us continue our crucial work to protect, maintain and enhance Wiltshire’s biodiversity and create the living landscapes we need if there is to be a sustainable future for wildlife and people.”
