Flowers, veils and little suits were the order of the day in Sutton Benger last week when a group of toddlers took part in a mock wedding ceremony.

Proud parents gathered at All Saints Church to witness their youngsters utter their solemn vows on the Benger Bears Preschool day out.

Vicar Geoff Hewitt married the little ones, who all dressed for the occasion, before they made their way back to their base in Chestnut Road for a reception.

Benger Bears supervisor Karen Swannack said: “It was wonderful and the children thoroughly enjoyed it – they were dressed up as brides and bridegrooms, bridesmaids and page boys.

“Geoff Hewitt, the vicar, talked to them about marriage and what it means and then they all took it in turns to get married.

“There were a few bigamists and a few tears from the mums, then afterwards we all went back to Benger Bears for a reception and the wedding cake.”
