Pre-school children in Minety are to get an all- weather play area.
Councillors on the area board agreed to give £1,508 to the school, which needs the surface to stop the garden getting churned up in wet conditions.
The pre-school has grown from 12 to 45 children aged 18 months to five years.
The current play area is too small and becomes a mud bath when it rains.
The all-weather facility may also allow a Stay and Play holiday scheme for older children which has already been trialled.
Coun Carole Soden, who voted in favour of the grant, said: “I know this has the full support of the parish council and I’m happy to give it my backing.”
