Changes are being made to the entrance of Priestley School in Calne in line with a council initiative to improve road safety.
There are plans to introduce dropped kerbs and put up pedestrian gateways at the entrance in Prince Charles Drive under Wiltshire Council’s Taking Action on School Journeys project.
In a report to Calne Town Council senior traffic technician Sarah Anderson said: “The proposals will improve the safety for pedestrians in the local area and those walking to and from Priestley Primary School.”
The proposal has been developed as part of a request from the school.
Work is expected to start on Monday, July 26 and last for two weeks.
