A group of girls from the First Chippenham Guides showed off their creative skills last week when a flower bed they designed was unveiled.
The troupe gathered at John Coles Park, in Malmesbury Road, where the raised bed was officially opened by Mayor Sandra Oakes.
Guider Helen Yandell said: “The girls really enjoyed the flower bed project and it was a nice way for them to show their creative skills.
“They designed it and it was put together by the town council, but the girls came to assist with the planting. They all did a lovely job.”
The project was part of the Guides’ centenary celebrations, which have seen the Chippenham group take part in several other events this year including a Great Guides Getaway to Switzerland.
Mrs Yandell said: “We went away for a week and we got involved in a lot of different activities including building an igloo and going on a snow hike.”
