Full-time carer Peter Horne from Calne has hit out at the heartless vandals who slashed his car tyres leaving him and his disabled wife housebound.
Mr Horne, 59, of Abberd Way, was devastated when he went to take his 16-year-old son Callum out on his paper round on Sunday morning and realised his tyres on his Mondeo Estate had been slashed.
He said the unprovoked attack has left him with no way of getting his wife Donna, 55, to hospital for a check up on a brain injury she suffered ten years ago.
He will also have to find another way of getting his 12-year-old daughter Ellie to a specialist dentist in Swindon this week, after she suffered horrific facial injuries in a road accident five years ago.
He said: “My wife is in a wheelchair, but she is housebound now too.
“We depend on the car for everything, it has disabled stickers on but these morons don’t care about things like that.”
It is thought the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning, but Mr Horne, who owns whippets, is mystified as to when exactly the vandals struck, as his dogs would normally bark if they heard a disturbance.
Mr Horne, who devotes all of his time to caring for his wife, said he does not know how he will pay for a new set of tyres.
“The worst thing is, these tyres were only about three months old,” he said.
Anyone who has information on the incident should call Calne police on 0845 408 7000.
