Police are highlighting the importance of the Crimestoppers hotline after a tip-off led them to a man growing cannabis in his greenhouse.
Last Saturday officers searched a house near Abberd Way in Calne where they found 12 cannabis plants.
They subsequently took a man aged 50 to Calne Police Station where he received a caution for cultivation of the drug.
PC Hans Monahan said: “The beauty of Crimestoppers is that information can be left anonymously and we will always act when we receive the information.
“The cannabis was of low value – the biggest of the plants was about three feet tall and the smallest was about 10 inches.
“Nevertheless we want to reassure members of the public that we take information left with Crimestoppers very seriously.”
Crimestoppers can be reached on 0800 555 111.
