The people of Ham (population just 150) have presented a cheque for the princely sum of £1,397 to Help for Heroes.
Reg and Brenda Stevens, who live in the village near Shalbourne, organised a walk, quizzes and pledges. Mr Stevens said: “This is a brilliant achievement for our small village. I can’t believe how generous and helpful people have been.”
Former serving officer Robin Steel added: “This magnificent sum adds to £1702, raised in January and that means that in the last six months, the village has raised over £3,000 for this worthy cause.”
