Staff and pupils at Preshute Primary School at Manton are celebrating after getting a coveted Artsmark Gold award.
The award, from Arts Council England, recognises the school’s commitment to and excellence in arts education and it was one of almost 1,700 schools in England to get an award.
Head teacher Celia Hicks said the award was the result of a lot of hard work by pupils and teachers.
Mrs Hicks said: “Our children have really enjoyed working with the variety of local artists and writers who have visited us and our Year 6 children had a wonderful time at our recent drama day.
“I would like to thank all our staff for their hard work in achieving this award.”
