When Ogbourne Maizey farmer Bob Curnick celebrates his 90th birthday this weekend, he will also mark 73 years in the farming industry.
Mr Curnick entered farming at the age of 17 and worked with his brother at Ogbourne Maizey and Rockley before buying Maisey Farm in Ogbourne Maizey in 1962.
He and his wife Nora, their three daughters Susan, Gilly and Lesley and 100 guests will get together on Sunday at Manton Grange to celebrate the occasion.
Mr Curnick’s son-in-law, Ken Carter, said: “I think it is a huge achievement to have lasted this long in the farming profession.”
