A charity which has supported local older people for 60 years has launched its new name.
From now on Age Concern Wiltshire will be known as Age UK.
Chippenham chairman Mike Weston said: “Last week, for the first time in Wiltshire, the number of people over 65 exceeded those under 16.
“Most live active and full lives, and many contribute their wisdom and experience to help their local community.
“For some people though, later life can mean poverty, ill health and loneliness.
“We believe that as Age UK Wiltshire we can work together with the national charity to continue to provide important services to people in our local area.”
The name change follows the merger last year of national charities Age Concern England and Help the Aged.
