THE Wiltshire county bowls championships have reached the last 16 stage in the singles, pairs, triples and fours.
A place at Worthing in the English Bowls Association awaits the two finalists in all four competitions.
There have been several surprise results in the earlier rounds but none bigger than in the county fours.
The Westlecot quartet of Mel Biggs, Tony Stevenson, Mark Dyer and Steve Warren, who won the National Fours title at Worthing three years ago, were runners-up in the British Isles Championships in 1998 when representing England, and beaten finalists in last year's Wiltshire Fours final at Devizes have been knocked out.
They lost 18-17 in the last 32 to the Wootton Bassett quartet of Graham Fryer, Del Smith, Alan Small and Martyn Murley.
